The Washington Wild Things (9-9) didn't have a chance on Sunday, as the Schaumburg Boomers (7-12) won in blowout fashion, 11-3 at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored four runs in the eighth on the Schaumburg Boomers scored in the eighth on a two-run home run by Josh Gardiner, an RBI triple by Chris Robinson, and an RBI single by Mark Nelson.

The Schaumburg Boomers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Gardiner, who went 3-3 against the Washington Wild Things' pitching.

Evan Boyd pitched lights out for the Schaumburg Boomers. Boyd held the Washington Wild Things hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Josh Heddinger recorded his first win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed three runs over five innings. Heddinger struck out four, walked four and gave up six hits.

Tyler Garkow (0-2) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
