The Everett get 6 strikeouts from Gray in 2-1 win over the Treasure Valley

Story by Narrative Science.

An ace performance by Alex Gray hoisted the Everett (36-11) to a 2-1 win over the Treasure Valley (33-19) on Thursday at David Story Field - Longview, W.

The Everett relied on Gray to eat up innings en route to the win. Gray allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out six over nine innings of work.

The Treasure Valley jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Treasure Valley were ahead until the eighth inning, but the Everett would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a solo home run by Bryce Peterson.

Peterson had a hot bat for the Everett. Peterson went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the eighth inning.

Despite the loss, the Treasure Valley's Sam Wong dominated the Everett's batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Branden Cutsforth ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
