A walk-off solo home run from Hunter Gates brought home the winning run for the Chemeketa (30-18) in a 5-4 victory over the Walla Walla (27-18) at Skagit Valley on Sunday.
Gates had a hot bat for the Chemeketa. Gates went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.
The Chemeketa were led by Ethan Bragg's hitting. Bragg went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the third and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
Garrett March got on base three times in the game for the Walla Walla. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning.
Jacob Asa recorded his second win of the year for the Chemeketa. Asa struck out one, walked one and gave up three hits.
