The Walla Walla first-inning burst enough to top the Olympic, 8-0

A six-run explosion in the first inning carried the Walla Walla (29-19) to an 8-0 win in five innings over the Olympic (21-23) at Delta Park on Friday.

The Walla Walla scored in the first on an RBI double by Jacie McDaniels, an RBI single by Erin Ware, an RBI single by Taylor Erbst, and a three-run home run by Carli Taylor.

Taylor racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Walla Walla.

Mallory Chavez had an impressive outing against the Olympic's lineup. The Olympic managed just three hits off of the the Walla Walla's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his four innings of work.

Rachel Ranyak was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out none.
