A five-run explosion in the third inning led the Centralia (29-11) to a 9-2 win in seven innings over the Pierce (22-23) at Cirque Park on Saturday.
The Centralia scored in the third on an RBI single by McKenzie Wasson, a double by Kierstin Smith, a groundout by Kayla Capps, a double by Kayla Hoke, a double by Hoke, a single by Sydney Cole-Vogler, and a single by Brittany Schaff.
The Centralia were led by Smith's hitting. Smith went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run.
The Pierce were led by a flawless day at the dish by Kali Schouteren, who went 2-2 against the Centralia's pitching. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jessica Glacken improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Centralia. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Glacken struck out three, walked two and gave up nine hits.
Anna Lennox was charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked none and struck out two.
