The Mt. Hood (30-8) beat the Lower Columbia 4-3 Tuesday behind both the bat and the arm of Kayla Byers.
The Mt. Hood were led by Byers' hitting. Byers went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.
Byers got the win for the Mt. Hood thanks to eight strikeouts. Byers allowed three earned runs, 10 hits and two walks over seven innings.
Krystina Fischer (16-4) took the loss for the Lower Columbia (28-11). He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
