Great game from the Everett's Smith not enough in 8-4 loss to the Bellevue

The Everett (15-20) failed to take advantage of Kiana Smith's effort at the plate on Tuesday, losing 8-4 to the Bellevue (36-6) in seven innings at Everett Boys _ Girls Club .

Smith blasted two home runs for the Everett. Smith went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Smith homered in the first and seventh innings.

The Bellevue got their bats going early, scoring four runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Everett. The Bellevue scored in the first on , a two-run single by Rayne Sylvester, and an error.

Cassidy Mast had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second and sixth innings.

Ciera Lockwood improved to 19-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Bellevue. He allowed three runs over three innings. Lockwood struck out four, walked none and gave up six hits.

Scarlett Nyenhuis (5-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

Mast, Payton Gibbs and Rachael Delamare helped lead the Bellevue. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.
