The Clackamas seventh-inning burst enough to top the Chemeketa, 11-2

The Clackamas (30-10) beat the Chemeketa (9-26) 11-2 in seven innings on Saturday at Wallace Marine Park after an eight-run explosion in the seventh inning.

The Clackamas scored in the seventh on a two-run single by Kylie Gonzales, a two-run home run by Katie Rose Whestine, an RBI double by Presley Turin, an RBI double by Turin, an RBI single by Hailey Frilot, and a two-run double by Hannah Vandomelen.

Janelle Rodgers got a hit in each of his two at bats. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Emily Marchbanks picked up the win for the Clackamas. Marchbanks allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out two over seven innings of work.

Janie Carr had two extra-base hits for the Chemeketa. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Lindsay Hill (0-6) took the loss for the Chemeketa. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Vandomelen, Rose Whestine and Rodgers helped lead the Clackamas. They combined for four hits and seven RBIs.
