An outstanding effort by Cierra Barkis led the Bellevue (32-6) to a 15-0 win in five innings over the Skagit Valley (5-18) on Saturday at Bellevue College- Softball Fiel.
Barkis racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Bellevue. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the second and fourth innings.
Eight runs in the first three innings helped the Bellevue blow out the Skagit Valley. A sacrifice fly by Tessani Dixon and a groundout by Rayne Sylvester during the first inning and a two-run home run by Barkis and an RBI single by Cassidy Mast in the second inning helped the Bellevue put some runs on the board early.
Ciera Lockwood held the Skagit Valley scoreless during his five innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out three.
Mallory Kruzich couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Skagit Valley, taking a loss. He allowed 15 runs in four innings, walked three and struck out none.
