Makenzie Norwill went 2-4, helping the Spokane (25-13) to a 3-1 victory over the Columbia Basin (27-13) on Saturday.

He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Michele Strauss struck out seven, paving the way for a the Spokane win. Strauss allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Kayla Andrews was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Spokane batters and allowing one run.

Sarah Gilliam (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
