A five-run explosion in the third inning carried the Roswell Invaders (41-16) to a 9-3 win over the Tucson Saguaros (43-13) at Kino Veterans on Thursday.
Bobby Webb racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Roswell Invaders. He singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.
The Tucson Saguaros couldn't get anything going as long as Lance Fairchild was pitching. The Tucson Saguaros managed just one hit off of Fairchild, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his two innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Tucson Saguaros' Burnell Dailey. Dailey went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.
TJ Pruneda got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered eight hits.
Daniel Diaz (3-2) took the loss for the Tucson Saguaros. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
