The Garden City Wind (1-0) beat the Trinidad Triggers (0-1) 5-2 on Thursday at Clint Lightner behind Ken Olszewski, who drove in three runs.

He homered in the eighth inning.

Austin Boyle had an impressive outing against the Trinidad Triggers' lineup. The Trinidad Triggers managed just two hits off of the the Garden City Wind's pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Trinidad Triggers' Joe Robinson dominated the Garden City Wind's batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Pedro Bacame got the win for the Garden City Wind. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Bacame struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jake Swartout was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
