An ace performance by Kayla Byers led the Mt. Hood (20-7) to an 8-4 win in seven innings over the Pierce (12-16) on Saturday at Cirque Park.
Byers brought the heat against the Pierce during his outing. Byers held the Pierce hitless over six innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven.
Darian Lindsey racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Mt. Hood. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.
Jessilyn Enlow couldn't get it done on the bump for the Pierce, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out three.
