The Mt. Hood (17-7) beat the Shoreline 8-0 Saturday behind both the bat and the arm of Sammie Byron.
Byron led the Mt. Hood's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Byron had an impressive outing against the Shoreline (10-8)'s lineup. Byron held the Shoreline hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out one.
The Mt. Hood blew out the Shoreline thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Mt. Hood scored three runs in the sixth on the Mt. Hood scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Rachel Rutledge, an RBI single by Megan Marcy, and a groundout by Byron.
Dakota Green ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out two.
