A six-run explosion in the seventh inning carried the Douglas (8-3) to a 10-1 win in seven innings over the College of Lake County at Arizona on Sunday.

The Douglas scored in the seventh on a double by Daniella Vilio, an RBI single by Madison Heggie, a single by Michaela Moore, a groundout by Siara Couper, a double by Rae Samuelson, a double by Keeley Ainge, a groundout by Janine Ryce, and a single by Taylor Woodward.

Laura Baldry put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Douglas. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the first, third, and seventh innings.

Ainge picked up the win for the Douglas. Ainge allowed one earned run, nine hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

K Synder was hot from the plate for the College of Lake County. Synder went 3-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

J Wilson (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out none.

The Douglas' Woodward, Moore, Samuelson and Baldry combined for 11 hits and six RBIs.
