The Shoreline (16-16) shut the door early on the Skagit Valley (5-25), capturing a 14-6 victory on Sunday at Meridian Park.
With nine runs in the first three innings, the Shoreline left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Emily Jackson, an RBI single by Drew Camacho, and an error during the first inning and an RBI single by Shelby Reyes, an RBI single by Kathryn Goff, and a three-run home run by Jeralyn Pasoquen in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Shoreline.Pasoquen racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Shoreline.
Mandy Warner had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Even though Goff allowed six runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. Goff struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.
Mallory Kruzich was charged with his seventeenth loss of the year. He allowed 13 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
