Josh Bunselmeyer went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Gateway Grizzlies (32-33) to a 6-3 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (28-36) on Thursday at GCS Ballpark.
He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.The Gateway Grizzlies relied on Adam Eggnatz to eat up innings en route to the win. Eggnatz pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out six.
Jordan Dean was solid at the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers. Dean went 1-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning.
Kagen Hopkins (3-4) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
