Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the River City Rascals (30-32) outscored the Lake Erie Crushers (29-33) 12-10.
The two teams combined for 28 hits in the game.
The Lake Erie Crushers jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Lake Erie Crushers were up until the fifth inning, but the River City Rascals had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an error.
Josh Ludy put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the River City Rascals. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the third inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
Jason Zgardowski struck out nine hitters en route to the the River City Rascals win. Zgardowski allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over 4 2/3 innings.
Justin Sinibaldi (0-4) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The River City Rascals pounded the Lake Erie Crushers pitching, as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
