A walk-off from Jamodrick McGruder brought home the winning run for the Washington Wild Things (30-29) in a 4-3 victory over the Normal CornBelters (29-32) at CONSOL Energy Park on Tuesday.

David Popkins put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Matt Fraudin pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out four.

Zac Grotz recorded his first win of the year for the Washington Wild Things. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Race Parmenter (3-2) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
