Nick Oberg went 2-4, sparking the Schaumburg Boomers (30-37) to a 7-5 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (44-21) on Friday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Gunnar Kines baffled the Southern Illinois Miners, striking out six batters. Kines allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks over seven innings.

Shane Kennedy got on base three times in the game for the Southern Illinois Miners. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Derek DeYoung recorded his second win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.
