The Lower Columbia uses big fourth inning to beat the Grays Harbor, 9-1

A five-run explosion in the fourth inning spurred the Lower Columbia (5-1) to a 9-1 win in five innings over the Grays Harbor (0-8) at VGSA Vancouver WA on Saturday.

The Lower Columbia scored in the fourth on an RBI double by Ashley Kelly, an RBI triple by Hannah Rothwell, an RBI single by Sam Boyce, a sacrifice fly by Bailey Hockett, and an RBI single by Bailey Ellis.

Jessica Gibson got on base three times in the game for the Lower Columbia. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.

Ellis had an impressive outing against the Grays Harbor's lineup. The Grays Harbor managed just one hit off of Ellis, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Sabrina Collins couldn't get it done on the mound for the Grays Harbor, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out none.
