Cierra Barkis went 3-3 at the plate as the Bellevue (10-3) took home a 5-1 victory over the Mt. Hood (11-3) in seven innings at VGSA Vancouver WA on Saturday.
He singled in the first and third innings.The Mt. Hood had no answer for Ciera Lockwood, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Mt. Hood managed just two hits off of the the Bellevue's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Mt. Hood's Hailey Valitski. Valitski went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.
Sammie Byron (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked five, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
