The Mt. Hood (6-1) jumped out to an early lead on the Blue Mountain (2-5) and captured an 11-0 victory on Saturday at BMCC Softball Field .
With seven runs in the first three innings, the Mt. Hood left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A solo home run by Tiara Champ, a two-run home run by Champ, and an RBI single by Lexi Patino in the first inning and an RBI double by Darian Lindsey and a three-run home run by Kayla Byers during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Mt. Hood.Lindsey had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.
Byers had an impressive outing against the Blue Mountain's lineup. Byers gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Tiffany Snyder (1-1) took the loss for the Blue Mountain. He allowed 11 runs in five innings, walked one and struck out two.
The Mt. Hood's Rachel Rutledge, Lindsey, Champ and Byers combined for 11 hits and nine RBIs.
