The North Idaho make the most of 10 hits in 7-3 victory over the Chemeketa

The North Idaho (5-2) and the Chemeketa (3-2) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the North Idaho capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-3 win at Heinz/Ore-Ida Regional Softball.

Jamie Yurick led the North Idaho's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second innings.

Aiyana Aipia was solid at the plate for the Chemeketa. Aipia went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Amber Hawkes got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered 11 hits.

McKenna Culpepper couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Chemeketa, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
