The Columbia Basin (2-0) beat the Blue Mountain (0-2) 3-1 on Wednesday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field behind Parker Coffey, who went 1-3.

The Blue Mountain's lineup had no answer for Tanner Roundy. The Blue Mountain managed just two hits off of Roundy, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

A bright spot for the Blue Mountain in the defeat was Brian Howell, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.

Karver Pate improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Columbia Basin. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered no hits.

Trevor Oldham (0-1) took the loss for the Blue Mountain. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
