Saturday was a great day for Katie Zook, as he hit two home runs to carry the Clackamas (16-3) to a 19-8 victory over the Pierce (7-13) at Clackamas Community College Sof in five innings.
Zook racked up eight RBIs on three hits for the Clackamas. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the second and third innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 27 runs and 28 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Nineteen runs in the opening three innings allowed the Clackamas to easily put away the Pierce. A two-run double by Zook and a sacrifice fly by Kenzi Kluken in the first inning and a solo home run by Presley Turin, , a home run by Zook, and a three-run double by Hannah Vandomelen during the second inning fueled the Clackamas' offense early.
Even in defeat, Kailey Nobriga played well for the Pierce.
Nobriga racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Pierce. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third innings.
Nobriga put together a nice outing. Nobriga gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his one inning of work.
Vandomelen recorded his fourth win for the Clackamas even though he allowed eight runs over five innings. Vandomelen struck out one, walked one and gave up 11 hits.
Jessilyn Enlow couldn't get it done on the mound for the Pierce, taking a loss. He allowed 12 runs in two innings, walked four and struck out none.
The Clackamas pounded the Pierce pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 19 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
