Peyton Burks was cold coming off the bench, but Burks warmed up quickly as Burks stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Clark (6-11) to a 6-5 win over the SW Oregon (4-17) on Saturday at Tigard HS.
With the score tied at five, Burks came to the plate and singled.
Marco Murillo was solid at the plate for the Clark. Murillo went 3-4 and scored three runs. He singled in the third and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Zach Torson got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Jonathan Keltie (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
