The Centralia offense too much for the Blue Mountain in 13-6 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Centralia (6-2) shut the door early on the Blue Mountain (2-4), capturing a 13-6 victory on Saturday at Columbia Playfields.

Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Centralia to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Kierstin Smith and a three-run home run by McKenzie Wasson during the first inning and a solo home run by Rachel Diaz-de-Leon in the second inning helped the Centralia put some runs on the board early.

Wasson racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Centralia.

It was a good day at the plate for the Blue Mountain's Megan Ulrey. Ulrey went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.

Even though Emily Benton allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. Benton struck out seven, walked four and gave up eight hits.

Ulrey (0-2) took the loss for the Blue Mountain. He allowed 11 runs in three innings, walked three and struck out two.
