Both the Wareham Gatemen (8-6) and the Orleans Firebirds (7-8) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Wareham Gatemen that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-5 win at Spillane Field.

Kainoa Harrison was hot from the plate for the Wareham Gatemen. Harrison went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Riley Mahan was solid at the plate for the Orleans Firebirds. Mahan went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Jake Smith recorded his first win of the year for the Wareham Gatemen. Smith struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.

Kevin Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
