The Delray Beach Lightning (16-11) shut the door early on the Phipps Park Barracudas (10-14), capturing a 19-3 victory on Saturday at Forrest Hill H.S.

Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Delray Beach Lightning to put the game away early.

A groundout by Andreas Papageorge and a two-run single by Conner Dunbar in the first inning and an RBI single by Tyler Scwanz during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Delray Beach Lightning.

Brendan McKendry put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Delray Beach Lightning. He singled in the third innings, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Joe LaSorsa got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Joey Calamita was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in two innings, walked three and struck out two.

The Delray Beach Lightning hammered the Phipps Park Barracudas pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
