Eight first-inning runs helped the South Florida Huskies (12-16) to a 12-7 win over the Coral Springs Royals (10-18) at Coral Glades Sportsplex on Saturday.

The South Florida Huskies scored in the first on an RBI single by Mike Borst, an RBI single by Nico Rodriquez, an RBI single by CJ Fitzgerald, an error, an RBI single by Eder Hernandez, an RBI single by Gerardo Roque, a sacrifice fly by Chris Ortega, and an RBI single by Brynn Martinez.

Martinez racked up two RBIs on three hits for the South Florida Huskies.

Joe Campagna had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Nick Alonzo recorded his first win for the South Florida Huskies even though he allowed six runs over four innings. Alonzo struck out two, walked three and gave up eight hits.

Alex Ginn (1-1) took the loss for the Coral Springs Royals. He allowed 11 runs in two innings, walked none and struck out one.
