The Pompano Beach Clippers' late runs seal 12-4 blowout over the Palm Beach Xtreme

A five-run ninth inning sealed a 12-4 win for the Pompano Beach Clippers (4-1) over the Palm Beach Xtreme (5-6) on Thursday at Spanish River High School.

The Pompano Beach Clippers scored in the ninth on a three-run single by Ryan Erickson, a solo home run by Lance Myers, and a solo home run by J.P. Sorma.

Kyle Simon had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Tommy Romero put together a nice outing. Romero held the Palm Beach Xtreme hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Connor Rowland racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh innings.

Patrick Mitchell recorded his first win of the year for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He allowed three runs over two innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Andrew Don ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
