A walk-off blast from J.P. Sorma brought home the winning run for the Pompano Beach Clippers (9-4) in a 10-8 victory over the Florida Pokers (9-8) at Pompano Beach Park on Wednesday.
Sorma rocked the Florida Pokers with two home runs. Sorma went 2-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Sorma homered in the third and ninth innings.
The two teams combined for 18 runs and 20 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Nate Mcmaster improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Michael Matter couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Florida Pokers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked five and struck out four.
