A great effort by Lexi Courtney carried the North Idaho (11-2) to an 8-7 win in seven innings over the Big Bend (4-9) on Saturday at North Idaho Community College.
Courtney hit two home runs for the North Idaho. Courtney went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. Courtney homered in the first and sixth innings.
Shayla Baker went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Big Bend. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Even though Amber Hawkes allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. Hawkes struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Baker was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
