Casey Brown tossed a shutout to lift the Top Speed Baseball (18-1) to an 8-0 win over the Sacramento Heat (6-13) at Drake High in seven innings.
The Top Speed Baseball got the win thanks in large part to Brown's dominant, 10-strikeout performance. The Top Speed Baseball's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Top Speed Baseball to easily put away the Sacramento Heat. An RBI single by Mitch Guilmette and an RBI single by Guilmette during the first inning and a solo home run by Nick Rau in the second inning fueled the Top Speed Baseball's offense early.
Drew Taylor racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Top Speed Baseball. He homered in the third inning.
Connor Davis (0-2) took the loss for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked four and struck out one.
