Nick Murphy went 4-4 at the plate, sparking the Manitoba North Stars (3-0) to a 6-1 victory over the Palm Springs Power (3-1) on Sunday at Palm Springs Stadium.

He singled in the third and sixth innings and doubled in the second and eighth innings.

The Palm Springs Power couldn't get anything going as long as Tanner Kiest was pitching. Kiest held the Palm Springs Power hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

Ryan Davis brought the heat against the Manitoba North Stars during his outing. Davis held the Manitoba North Stars hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Evan Neiser improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Manitoba North Stars. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Andrew Lowe took the loss for the Palm Springs Power. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
