The Palm Springs Power (2-0) beat the Canada As (1-1) 2-0 in seven innings on Friday at Palm Springs Turf Field behind Cameron Johnson, who went 2-3.
He singled in the first and fourth innings.The Canada As had no answer for Nick Grim, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Grim gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Canada As' Brady Muller dominated the Palm Springs Power's batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
Muller was charged with his first loss of the year.
