The North Idaho uses big fifth inning to beat the Walla Walla, 11-4

The North Idaho (18-5) beat the Walla Walla (10-13) 11-4 in six innings on Sunday at North Idaho after a seven-run explosion in the fifth inning.

The North Idaho scored in the fifth on a solo home run by Nikki Miller, a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Chloe McIntosh, a two-run home run by Abby Howard, and a two-run home run by Katie Barron.

Howard racked up four RBIs on two hits for the North Idaho.

Carli Taylor put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Walla Walla. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Barron got the win, running his season record to 8-3. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Brittney Bradley (3-4) took the loss for the Walla Walla. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
