Willi Martin went 2-3, helping the River City Rascals (20-18) to a 2-1 victory over the Joliet Slammers (23-17) on Tuesday at CarShield Field.
He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.Tim Koons got the win for the River City Rascals thanks to eight strikeouts. Koons allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks over 7 2/3 innings.
Despite the loss, the Joliet Slammers' Sean Townsley dominated the River City Rascals' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.
Townsley couldn't get it done on the hill for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss.
