The Vienna River Dogs (14-18) and the Baltimore Dodgers (11-22) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Vienna River Dogs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-5 win at James Madison High School.
The Vienna River Dogs were led by Jordan Sergent's hitting. Sergent went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
The Baltimore Dodgers' lineup had no answer for Peter Nielsen. Nielsen held the Baltimore Dodgers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Brian Bauk had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Elijah Ginsburg (0-1) took the loss for the Baltimore Dodgers. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
