Joel Paulino went 2-3, sparking the Gaithersburg Giants (15-18) to a 5-1 victory over the Rockville Express (13-21) on Friday at Criswell Automotive Field.

Nick Pantos brought the heat against the Rockville Express during his outing. The Rockville Express managed just three hits off of Pantos, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his six innings of work.

A bright spot for the Rockville Express in the defeat was Sam Deardorff, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Jason Reyes got on base three times in the game for the Rockville Express. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Deardorff ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
