The Bethesda Big Train (18-8) took down the Rockville Express (8-18) 9-2 on Wednesday at Montgomery College after slamming the Rockville Express with six runs in the third inning.
The Bethesda Big Train scored in the third on a single by Cam Daugherty, an RBI single by Logan Farrar, a groundout by Allen Smoot, a single by Michael Emodi, a passed ball, and a two-run single by Vinny Esposito.
Esposito went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Bethesda Big Train.
The Rockville Express couldn't get anything going as long as Matt Marsili was pitching. The Rockville Express managed just two hits off of the the Bethesda Big Train's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his four innings of work.
John Murphy got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed two runs over five innings. Murphy struck out two, walked two and gave up four hits.
Cole Bradley was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out six.
