The Vienna River Dogs (9-14) beat the Rockville Express (6-16) 9-5 on Friday at James Madison High School behind Shaun Wood, who drove in four runs.

Despite the loss, the Rockville Express' Ryan Davis dominated the Vienna River Dogs' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.

The Rockville Express were led by Corey Howard's hitting. Howard went 2-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Nick Beaulac improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed three runs over five innings. Beaulac struck out two, walked four and gave up five hits.

Cody Mauri couldn't get it done on the mound for the Rockville Express, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.
