A walk-off single from Andrew Zitel brought home the winning run for the Vienna River Dogs (8-12) in a 6-5 victory over the Alexandria Aces in 11 innings at James Madison High School on Monday.
Shaun Wood reached base three times in the game for the Vienna River Dogs. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Trevor Farrell pitched lights out for the Vienna River Dogs. The Alexandria Aces (10-9) managed just three hits off of Farrell, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.
