The Lower Columbia jump on the Skagit Valley early and coast to 12-6 win

The Lower Columbia (6-0) shut the door early on the Skagit Valley (0-6), capturing a 12-6 victory on Sunday at David Story Field.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Lower Columbia to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Riley Higgins, a three-run double by Toby Johnson, and a two-run double by Kade Kryzsko during the second inning helped the Lower Columbia put some runs on the board early.

Higgins racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lower Columbia.

Ryan Kaser pitched lights out for the Lower Columbia. The Skagit Valley managed just two hits off of Kaser, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Ryan Fredrickson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
