The Edmonton Prospects (20-23) continued to pile up the runs on Sunday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 12-2 win over the Fort McMurray Giants (15-30) at Telus Field.
An RBI single by Matt Quartel and a three-run error helped the Edmonton Prospects score four runs in the third. The Edmonton Prospects had two hits in the inning.
Cory Scammell was solid at the plate for the Edmonton Prospects. Scammell went 4-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
The Fort McMurray Giants couldn't get anything going so long as Brock Whittlesey was on the hill. Whittlesey held the Fort McMurray Giants hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Erik Sabrowski improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Edmonton Prospects. He allowed two runs over six innings. Sabrowski struck out three, walked four and gave up four hits.
Curtis Bafus (2-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
