The Medicine Hat Mavericks (27-10) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Brooks Bombers (11-25) dominated in a 10-1 win at Athletic Park.
A three-run error and a sacrifice fly by Evan Douglas helped the Brooks Bombers score four runs in the seventh. The Brooks Bombers had two hits in the inning.
Justin Mitchell had a hot bat for the Brooks Bombers. Mitchell went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Joe Cooney pitched lights out for the Brooks Bombers. The Medicine Hat Mavericks managed just three hits off of Cooney, who allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out three during his five innings of work.
Joshua Garcia couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Medicine Hat Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
