The Medicine Hat Mavericks (25-7) blew out the Fort McMurray Giants (11-24) 14-3 on Sunday at Athletic Park after pouring on nine runs in the eighth inning.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Zac Wilson, , , a hit by pitch, a hit by pitch, an RBI single by Evan Regez, a two-run double by William Salas, and an RBI single by Anthony Calton.

Salas racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Kyle Blakeman got on base three times in the game for the Fort McMurray Giants. He singled in the third and sixth innings.

Parker White recorded his first win of the year for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Cooper Krug (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
