The Medicine Hat Mavericks outlast the Edmonton Prospects in extras, 8-7

It took 10 innings, but the Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-6) managed to put away the Edmonton Prospects (14-16) 8-7 on Friday at Telus Field.

With the score tied at seven in the tenth inning, Nolan Rattai came to the plate and singled, scoring Zac Wilson.

Rattai did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Medicine Hat Mavericks, reaching base three times. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the tenth innings.

Joshua Garcia had an impressive outing against the Edmonton Prospects' lineup. The Edmonton Prospects managed just one hit off of Garcia, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Matt Dallas got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Nick Hynes (1-1) took the loss for the Edmonton Prospects. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
