The Medicine Hat Mavericks (18-3) and the Yorkton Cardinals (12-11) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Medicine Hat Mavericks capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 9-7 win at Jubilee Park.

Anthony Calton reached base two times. He doubled in the seventh inning.

Luke Wilkinson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Yorkton Cardinals. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Talon Kunkel improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Austin Douglas ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
